about Phoebe
I grew up in West Sussex, England, loving art from my earliest memory. Witnessing my mother's portrait painting, I grew fond of the challenge and interest that portrait painting presented. After being encouraged into oil paints at my school in Kent, having being awarded a scholarship, I applied to The Florence Academy of Art to further my classical training in fine arts.
I attended The Florence Academy of Art for three years, graduating from its Drawing and Painting Program in June 2012. After becoming an assistant instructor in my final year, I was thrilled to be awarded Best Figure Painting in my 3rd year.
Currently I spend the majority of my time working on current commissions, as well as expanding and experimenting on my own work. I am available for portrait commissions of adults, teenagers, children, and pets, in both oil paint and charcoal and chalk.
In the Summer of 2016 I was very lucky to to take part in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the year, painting Sue Perkins. Each sitter got to choose a portrait to take home, and I was touched that Sue picked my painting. I was announced the winner of Heat 2, and put through to the semi finals, where my portrait was chosen by the sitter, actress Imelda Staunton.

I currently live and paint between New Romney, Kent, and London, always with my terrier, Lupin, in tow.
